Session 4D: Polycentric Urban Case Studies

21 October 2018
3:45 PM – 5:15 PM

The tall building has a strong role to play in terms of organizing lines of desire and optimizing the quality of human interaction in a polycentric city. When it comes to a city with multiple centers, questions arise. Positions on the cause-and-effect relationship of tall buildings and “new” centers vary; concerns abound about unequal access to growth areas and increased inefficiencies emerging from poorly distributed resources. In this session, the role of the tall building in, and its shared challenges with, the polycentric city, are explored.
