It has long been argued that net-zero-energy skyscrapers are possible. The conversation is now moving beyond the theoretical, as several high-profile commitments have been made to constructing such buildings, and several more have already been designed and constructed to Passivhaus standards. What are the considerations that will allow net-zero to become a mainstream design and operational practices, across different climates and cultures? This workshop will establish challenges, survey existing best-practice examples, and set forth some preliminary guidelines colleagues will be able to take home to their practices.
